Could dust storm debris cause respiratory issues?« Back to Previous Page

After the heavy dust storm we had last month, I noticed a lot of debris collecting in the corners of our living room. My children have been complaining about having stuffy noses and coughing, especially after they’ve been playing in that area. The ducts run right through there too. Has anyone else experienced this or do you think it could be related to the dust buildup?

Absolutely, dust storm debris can indeed cause respiratory issues. Heavy dust storms like the one we experienced last month are notorious for stirring up a lot of particulate matter that can end up inside your home’s ductwork and eventually get circulated through your HVAC system. This can definitely exacerbate existing allergies or trigger new ones in children and adults alike.

In Dubai, as well as across the UAE, regulations regarding indoor air quality (IAQ) are increasingly being emphasized. The presence of dust and debris from a recent storm could be a significant factor contributing to the stuffy noses and coughs your kids have been experiencing. Given that the ducts run through the area where they play, it's quite possible that these symptoms are related to the buildup.

It’s important to keep in mind that regular maintenance and cleaning of HVAC systems can greatly reduce the chances of such issues occurring. However, if you've noticed a significant increase in complaints about breathing difficulties since the storm, it might be wise to have your ducts professionally inspected and cleaned.

At SaniService, we offer comprehensive duct cleaning services tailored for UAE conditions. Our team uses state-of-the-art equipment to ensure that all debris is safely removed from your HVAC system, helping improve indoor air quality and reduce the risk of respiratory issues.

Don't hesitate to contact us at 800-MOLDS or email hello@saniservice.com if you're considering a professional inspection and cleaning. We can help ensure your family’s comfort and health during such challenging weather conditions.

Remember, keeping up with regular maintenance checks is crucial for maintaining good indoor air quality in your home.
