Should I urgently clean/replace ducts?« Back to Previous Page

After the heavy dust storm we had last month, I’ve noticed a persistent odor in the living room that’s really bothering me. It feels like it’s coming from the vents, especially when the AC is on. The kids have been complaining of itchy eyes and coughs as well. How urgent should I be about cleaning or replacing these ducts?

The issue you're experiencing sounds quite concerning. In the UAE, particularly in Dubai, we've seen similar cases after dust storms where dirty ducts can indeed cause problems like odor and health issues for family members. The persistent smell from your vents, especially when the AC is on, could very well be due to debris or mold accumulating within the system post-dust storm.

In such climates, it's not uncommon for outdoor particulates to make their way into HVAC systems. These particles can gather inside ducts and create a breeding ground for mold, particularly if there are any moisture issues which are common in our region especially with AC use. The fact that your kids have been experiencing itchy eyes and coughing could be linked to the irritants being distributed through the vents.

Given these symptoms and considering the recent dust storm, I would definitely recommend a professional inspection of your HVAC system. In Dubai, there are specific regulations regarding indoor air quality, which we must adhere to for our health and safety. Our team at Saniservice can provide you with a thorough assessment, ensuring that any potential issues like mold or excessive particulate matter are addressed.

The sooner you address this issue, the better it is for your family’s health. We offer a range of services including duct cleaning, inspection, and even replacement if necessary. It's important to act quickly so we can mitigate any further risks from contaminated air being circulated in your home.

If you'd like to take action now, please give us a call at 800-MOLDS or send an email to hello@saniservice.com. Our team will be happy to assist and ensure that your indoor environment remains clean and healthy for all residents.

Remember, maintaining good air quality in your home is crucial, especially with the unique environmental challenges we face here in Dubai. Let's keep our air clean and safe!
