Is dampness in coworking space harmful?« Back to Previous Page

After the heavy rain we had last month, I noticed a strange dampness in the coworking space area of our rented apartment. It’s right next to the kitchen, where there are usually water marks on the ceiling and walls. The air doesn’t smell quite right either, and my allergies have been acting up since it started getting wetter around here. Has anyone else experienced similar issues with their coworking spaces in Dubai, or any tips on how to address this?

Yes dampness in a coworking space can be harmful. In dubai, the climate is often humid and it's important to keep areas dry to prevent mold growth which can lead to respiratory issues and allergies. The coworking area you mentioned being next to the kitchen where there are water marks on the ceiling and walls sounds like a common spot for moisture intrusion.

Mold spores in the air from this dampness could be triggering your allergy symptoms, especially if you're prone to them. It's not uncommon for such issues to arise after heavy rain in Dubai as well. Other folks around here have had similar experiences with wet areas leading to discomfort and health problems.

For best results it is highly recommended that a professional environmental inspection is done. The company i work for offers mold testing, remediation, and air quality analysis which can be really helpful in identifying the extent of any damage or contamination.

If you suspect dampness or mold, call 800-MOLDS or email hello@saniservice.com to set up an appointment with our team. We'll come out and assess the situation, take samples if needed, and provide a detailed report on next steps.

In the meantime here are some tips:
1. Ensure proper ventilation especially around kitchens and bathrooms
2. Use dehumidifiers in wet areas
3. Clean any water marks or stains promptly to prevent mold growth
4. Keep humidity levels below 60% if possible

Remember, prevention is key but having a professional handle the issue when it gets serious can save you from bigger problems down the line. Take care of your indoor air quality and stay healthy!
