Should I worry about indoor air?« Back to Previous Page

We've been in our Dubai villa for about a year now and I just discovered what looks like indoor air behind some furniture. Is this dangerous and do I need to move out during treatment?

Absolutely, indoor air quality is a crucial aspect to consider especially in a climate like Dubai. The emirates can see extreme temperature changes and high levels of humidity at times which can contribute to the growth of mold, dust mites, and other allergens that may affect your health. In fact, as per UAE regulations, it's important for all new buildings to undergo an air quality test within 30 days after construction or renovation.

If you've noticed something unusual behind furniture, it’s wise not to dismiss this lightly. It could be a sign of mold growth or dust accumulation that needs addressing promptly. Mold in particular can release harmful spores into the air which may cause respiratory issues and allergic reactions especially for people with asthma or other respiratory conditions.

It's recommended you contact professionals like us at Saniservice for an inspection if you're unsure about what you're seeing. Our team is well-versed with UAE building codes and can provide a thorough analysis of your villa’s indoor air quality. They will be able to identify any issues such as moisture problems, inadequate ventilation, or pest infestations that could be contributing factors.

In the meantime, ensure good airflow in your home by opening windows when possible, using exhaust fans over bathrooms and kitchens, and keeping humidity levels low with dehumidifiers. Regular cleaning of surfaces like carpets, curtains, and upholstery is also crucial to minimize allergens.

Remember, indoor air quality can directly affect the health and comfort of you and your family. If we do find any issues, it’s usually best to address them before moving out as treatment typically involves cleaning affected areas and sometimes using decontamination processes which may make staying in the home during this period uncomfortable but necessary for long-term health benefits.

So, give us a call at 800-MOLDS or email hello@saniservice.com if you decide to proceed with an inspection. We're here to help ensure your indoor air remains safe and healthy!
