Do clogged ducts need urgent cleaning?« Back to Previous Page

After the heavy dust storms we had last week, I noticed a thick layer of dirt and debris accumulating in the ducts leading from my bedroom. The AC filter was so clogged with sand that it barely moved air. Given how close we are to summer when the AC will be running non-stop, is this something we need to address urgently?

Ducts clogged with sand and dirt can indeed be a serious concern, especially given the recent storms in Dubai. In our region, it's important to keep the indoor air quality as clean as possible, particularly with summer just around the corner when AC use will increase dramatically.

In the UAE, regulations surrounding HVAC systems are stringent to ensure energy efficiency and occupant health. However, the specifics of duct cleaning might not be mandated by law but are highly recommended for maintaining system performance and overall air quality.

If you've noticed a significant amount of sand and debris in your bedroom's ducts, it is advisable to have them cleaned professionally. Not only will this improve the efficiency of your AC unit, reducing energy consumption, but it can also help prevent issues like mold growth which might be more prevalent with high humidity due to storms.

A professional inspection should be carried out first, to determine the extent of the damage and if there are any other underlying issues that need addressing. This is especially important given how close we are to the hot summer months when AC will run almost constantly.

To avoid potential health risks from poor air quality or system malfunction, consider calling 800-MOLDS or emailing hello@saniservice.com for a thorough inspection and cleaning of your ducts. Professional service providers can ensure that all debris is removed safely without causing any damage to the HVAC system or your home’s structure.

Remember, clean ducts lead to better air quality in your home, lower energy bills due to improved efficiency, and reduced risk of mold growth – all crucial factors for a comfortable living environment especially during the intense summer heat.
