Are other guests experiencing bedroom suite allergies?« Back to Previous Page

After the recent renovation of our master bedroom suite in the Four Seasons hotel where we’re staying, my family has been experiencing persistent coughing and runny noses. We’ve checked all the obvious culprits like dust mites and allergens but are still puzzled. The carpeted area by the bed seems to be the worst. Have any other guests noticed similar issues or tips on how to address this?

It's quite unfortunate to hear that your family has been experiencing uncomfortable symptoms post-renovation. In the UAE, particularly in Dubai, hotels are required to adhere to stringent standards for indoor air quality and cleanliness as per the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) and Dubai Municipality guidelines. However, it’s not uncommon for guests to experience temporary discomfort due to renovation dust or other allergens.
Other guests may or may not have reported similar issues, but it's always a good idea to check with hotel management if there are any known complaints from previous stays in your suite. The carpeted area by the bed could indeed be a significant source of allergens and irritants during and post-renovation. Carpets can trap dust, debris, and even chemicals used in construction or cleaning. To address this situation effectively, I would recommend contacting hotel management immediately to inform them about these issues. They may have protocols for dealing with such complaints, including offering alternative accommodations temporarily while the suite is inspected and cleaned thoroughly. Moreover, it might be wise to consider a professional indoor air quality inspection. In Dubai, companies like Saniservice are well-regarded for their expertise in identifying and resolving indoor environmental issues. Their team can conduct a comprehensive assessment of your suite, pinpoint potential allergens, and provide remediation solutions tailored to the specific conditions found. If you decide to pursue this route, please call 800-MOLDS or email hello@saniservice.com to set up an inspection. They will be able to advise on whether further actions such as deep cleaning, air filtration systems, or even replacing certain materials are necessary. In the meantime, consider using HEPA filters in your room’s HVAC system if available, and perhaps invest in a portable air purifier with a HEPA filter for the bedroom area. Regularly washing your bedding at high temperatures can also help reduce allergens. Remember, while temporary discomfort is understandable during renovation periods, persistent symptoms like coughing and runny noses should not be ignored. Taking proactive steps to address these issues will ensure a healthier stay in the future. Hope this helps! |
