Is dust storm causing AC issues?« Back to Previous Page

After the heavy dust storm we had last week, I noticed a persistent layer of fine gray dust on our window sills and furniture. The AC in my apartment has also been running extra loudly lately, which is unusual as it’s usually quite efficient. Could this be due to the ducts needing cleaning? Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated!

Dust storms can indeed cause issues with your air conditioning system. The recent storm might have sent a significant amount of dust and debris into the atmosphere which can easily find its way into your ductwork, causing blockages or buildup that could affect airflow and efficiency. This is especially common in areas like Dubai where sand and dust are prevalent during storms.

In your case, the accumulation of fine gray dust on window sills and furniture suggests that a substantial amount of dust has entered your home. Your air conditioning system running louder than usual might be an indicator that there's more dust and debris obstructing the ducts or filters. This can reduce airflow, making your AC work harder to cool the space, thus increasing noise.

It’s important to note that in the UAE, regular maintenance of HVAC systems is highly recommended due to the region’s harsh environmental conditions. The dust storms are a reminder of this need as they can quickly deteriorate air quality and system performance.

I would advise having your ducts inspected by a professional company like Saniservice. They can provide thorough cleaning services that include removing accumulated debris, checking for any damage or leaks in the ductwork, and ensuring optimal airflow. This not only improves indoor air quality but also enhances the efficiency of your AC, reducing energy consumption and noise levels.

Don’t hesitate to contact us at 800-MOLDS or email hello@saniservice.com for a professional inspection and cleaning service tailored for Dubai’s climate conditions. Remember, keeping your HVAC system clean is key to maintaining a healthy indoor environment, especially after such events as the recent dust storm.

Regular maintenance can save you from unexpected issues in the long run and ensure that your air conditioning works at its best during these hot summer months.
