How urgent is cleaning after a dust storm?« Back to Previous Page

After the heavy dust storm we had last week, the air quality in my office at work has been really bad. The carpet is caked with dirt, and there's a layer of dust on everything, including my keyboard and monitor. It’s making everyone cough and sneeze. How urgent should I be about cleaning this up?

Cleaning up after the recent dust storm is pretty damn important. The air quality in your office has probably taken a hit and with all that dirt on surfaces including carpets, keyboards, and monitors, it's no wonder people are coughing and sneezing.

In Dubai and the UAE, regulations around indoor environmental quality aren't as strict as say, in some other places, but that doesn't mean you can just ignore it. The health of your staff should always be a priority. If the dust is causing symptoms like coughing and sneezing, it's definitely something that needs to be addressed urgently.

First thing’s first, consider calling 800-MOLDS or email hello@saniservice.com for a professional inspection. They can give you an expert opinion on how bad things are and what steps need to be taken. If the storm was really intense, it might have caused some unexpected issues like mold growth that could be harmful in the long run.

While waiting for them, you should start cleaning right away. Use microfiber cloths or a damp cloth to wipe down surfaces like desks, monitors, keyboards and other electronics. Make sure to dry everything thoroughly to prevent any moisture build-up which can lead to mold issues later on.

For carpets, consider using a professional carpet cleaning service. They have the right equipment to deep clean without causing too much mess. Also, open windows if possible to let fresh air in, but make sure you close them if dust starts coming back in.

Remember, it’s not just about making things look nice; it's about keeping your office healthy for everyone. If you're dealing with a serious case or have any concerns, don't hesitate to reach out for professional help. Your staff's health is worth investing in.
