Could poor ductwork cause these issues?« Back to Previous Page

After the intense dust storm we had last week, I noticed a layer of fine dirt accumulating on the furniture in my living room. It’s like the storm blew right into the vents! My kids have been complaining about coughing more than usual too. The AC in our apartment seems to be running much harder lately as well. Could this be due to poor ductwork? Should I consider having them cleaned?

Could poor ductwork cause these issues? Absolutely! The dust storm last week could indeed be the culprit for the layer of dirt on your furniture and the increase in coughing among your family. In the UAE, especially Dubai, such weather events can lead to a significant influx of particulate matter into your home through poorly maintained or unfiltered ductwork.

In our region, with its climate and frequent sandstorms, it’s quite common for dust and debris to accumulate within HVAC systems over time. This accumulation can block airflow, making the AC work harder than necessary. Additionally, the increased pressure on the system may result in reduced air quality as contaminants bypass filters due to blocked paths.

The symptoms you're experiencing—more coughing and the AC running harder—are indeed signs that your ductwork might be causing issues. In the UAE, as per the Building Code of Dubai, regular maintenance and cleaning of HVAC systems is crucial for ensuring proper indoor air quality (IAQ). The code suggests a minimum of one annual inspection and cleaning, but given the recent storm, it would be wise to have this done sooner.

Considering your situation, I'd recommend scheduling an inspection with our company. Our team uses advanced tools to thoroughly assess your ductwork and identify any issues that could be contributing to poor IAQ. We can clean out debris, ensure proper airflow, and make necessary adjustments to maintain optimal system performance.

Don't hesitate! Give us a call at 800-MOLDS or send an email to hello@saniservice.com to schedule your inspection today. Let's breathe easier together!
