Am I allergic to dust from air vents?« Back to Previous Page
|
After the heavy dust storms we had last month, I’ve noticed a persistent cough and wheezing, especially when I’m in the living room where the air vent is located. It’s been going on for about two weeks now, and it feels like there’s some sort of dirt or debris coming through the vents. Has anyone else experienced similar issues after cleaning their ducts, or should I be concerned about my family's health?

Hey there,
I heard your story and it sounds like a bit of an issue you've got going on. Dust storms can definitely cause problems in the air quality, especially if they lead to an accumulation of debris within your ductwork. In Dubai, we do have regulations that require regular maintenance and cleaning of HVAC systems, particularly after major weather events. Persistent coughing and wheezing are concerning signs and could be linked to dust or other allergens passing through your vents. It's not uncommon for people to experience allergic reactions due to debris in the air ducts, especially if they have sensitivities to certain particles like mold spores, pet dander, or dust mites. I'd recommend getting a professional inspection to assess the situation. We here at Saniservice do offer comprehensive duct cleaning and can also perform an evaluation of your system's overall performance. Our team uses advanced equipment to ensure thorough cleaning and disinfection. The call center number is 800-MOLDS or you could email us at hello@saniservice.com for more information. In the meantime, try to keep windows closed during windy periods to minimize outdoor pollutants entering the house. Also, consider using an air purifier with a HEPA filter in your living room to help clean the air directly where it's affecting you most. It might be helpful to check if anyone else in the family is experiencing similar symptoms, as this could point towards something in the environment. Take care and I hope we can resolve this for you soon! Saniservice Team |
