Are duct issues causing our AC problems?« Back to Previous Page

After the intense dust storm last month, I noticed a lingering sand-like residue on the floors of both the living room and my bedroom. The AC in our apartment has been running more than usual too, but it’s not as cool as it used to be. Could this be due to duct cleaning issues? How often should we be having our ducts cleaned in Dubai?

Are duct issues causing our AC problems? It's quite possible. In Dubai and the UAE, dusty conditions are common due to the region's climate and sandstorms. The dust you noticed on your floors could indeed be related to poor air ducts.

In our part of the world, it’s not uncommon for air conditioning systems to accumulate a significant amount of dust and debris over time. This can lead to reduced efficiency in cooling as well as the introduction of allergens into your living space. The AC running more than usual might just indicate that the airflow is compromised by this buildup.

UAE regulations don't mandate regular duct cleaning, but it’s highly recommended for maintaining indoor air quality, especially considering our climate conditions. It's crucial to have a professional inspection done to understand exactly what’s going on with your system.

If you suspect that duct issues are at play, do give us a call at 800-MOLDS or email hello@saniservice.com. Remember, keeping your air ducts clean is key to ensuring the efficiency of your AC system and maintaining a healthy indoor environment.

Duct cleaning isn't just about removing visible dust; it's also about eliminating potential health hazards like mold spores, pollen, and other allergens that can be detrimental to respiratory health. Regular cleaning every 3-5 years (or more often if you experience frequent sandstorms or have allergies) is a good practice.
