Are duct issues causing our sneezing?« Back to Previous Page

After the intense dust storm we had a few weeks ago, I noticed a lot of dust collecting on the furniture in my living room. My concern is whether this dust might be coming from the ducts in our apartment. The AC seems to make a strange noise sometimes too. How urgent do you think it is to clean the ducts, and could this be causing the frequent sneezing episodes that everyone has been experiencing?

Are duct issues causing our sneezing? That's a great concern. In the UAE, especially during dust storms, it's quite common to find an increase of airborne particles that can affect indoor air quality (IAQ). Ducts are known culprits for harboring such particulates and could indeed be contributing to your sneeze episodes.

Dust storms in Dubai and the wider UAE region have been notorious for bringing in a lot of fine particles, including dust, pollen, and other allergens. When these get into your HVAC system's ductwork, they can circulate around your home or office, leading to respiratory issues like frequent sneezing, especially if you're sensitive.

The noise coming from the AC unit could also be an indicator that something is not right in the ducts. Accumulated dust and debris can cause friction which might lead to unusual sounds. It’s important to have this assessed by a professional as soon as possible. Duct cleaning may be necessary, but it's wise to first have a thorough inspection done.

In Dubai, adherence to local building codes and environmental regulations is crucial. The UAE Environment Agency has guidelines for maintaining healthy indoor environments, which often include regular maintenance of HVAC systems like duct cleaning every 1-3 years depending on the usage and environment.

Given your symptoms and concerns, I'd recommend scheduling a professional inspection right away. A company that specializes in environmental inspections and remediation would be able to assess the condition of your ducts, identify any issues, and provide recommendations for cleaning or other necessary actions.

Don't hesitate to contact us at 800-MOLDS (800-66537) or email hello@saniservice.com. We can help you get a proper evaluation and ensure your air quality is up to par. Remember, clear air means clearer breathing!

It's also worth noting that keeping the HVAC filters clean on a regular basis can significantly reduce allergens in the air. But professional duct cleaning might be needed if there’s been significant build-up of dust or debris.

Act promptly to keep your home environment healthy and free from irritants like those pesky sneezes!
