Cost to professionally restore marble floors after damage?« Back to Previous Page

My villa’s marble floors in the living area have become really dull and have these cloudy, streaky patches ever since my previous cleaner used the wrong product on them a couple months ago. I’ve tried a few DIY solutions, but nothing has brought back the original shine, and I’m worried I might make it worse. Is it worth hiring a professional polishing service for this, and what should I realistically expect to pay to fix this for a roughly 500 sq ft area?

Marble restoration is absolutely worth it for this type of damage, especially in our climate where dust and humidity can set stains and etchings permanently. The cloudy, streaky patches are likely a combination of chemical etching from the wrong cleaner and residue. DIY attempts often spread the damage or leave more residue, which is why they haven't worked.

For a 500 sq ft living area, the cost is driven by the severity of the etching and the need for progressive diamond grinding and polishing to remove the damaged layer. Expect the process to involve multiple stages: coarse grinding to remove the etch, finer grinding to smooth, and finally polishing and sealing. A reputable service will use a professional crystallization process or diamond polishing pads, not just a buff, to restore the original gloss.

In Dubai, always verify the company holds a valid DED license and carries liability insurance for your property. Get a detailed on-site assessment and written quote; any legitimate service will need to see the floor's condition first. The final price will reflect the labour intensity, the number of grinding steps required, and the quality of the sealant used—a critical factor here as a good sealant will protect against our high humidity and future spills. Avoid any service that gives a firm price without an inspection or uses generic, non-marble-specific products.
