Could cleaning chemicals be making me cough and feel tired?« Back to Previous Page

After the intense cleaning sessions at our coworking space a few days ago, I've been experiencing a persistent cough and feeling quite fatigued. The cleaning involved a lot of spraying and dusting in the corner of my workspace where there’s usually a lot of paper clutter. Could this be causing my symptoms?

Hey there,

First off, it's good to hear that you've noticed potential issues from the cleaning process. In Dubai and the UAE, indoor air quality can be a concern due to the climate and building designs, so your symptoms might indeed be linked to the cleaning activities.

The use of strong chemicals during intense cleanings can sometimes trigger respiratory issues or lead to fatigue in individuals who are more sensitive to these substances. The UAE has regulations on the use of chemical products in buildings, but it's always a good idea to ensure that they're being used safely and effectively.

Given your symptoms, I would recommend you speak with a healthcare provider for an assessment. If necessary, consider getting a professional indoor air quality inspection done. Here at Saniservice, we offer such services which can help identify potential issues like mold growth or volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from cleaning products that could be causing your discomfort.

In the meantime, ensure good ventilation in your workspace by opening windows or using an air purifier if available. Also, try to avoid areas where the strongest cleaning activities are taking place and perhaps request for a different clean-up schedule if possible.

If you decide to proceed with a professional inspection, our contact number is 800-MOLDS (66537) or you can email us at hello@saniservice.com. Our team will be able to provide detailed reports on the air quality and recommend necessary actions to improve your workspace environment.

Remember, it's important to act promptly if you're experiencing persistent symptoms after cleaning activities in your coworking space. Taking steps now could prevent more serious health issues down the line.

Hope this helps,
Saniservice Team
