Could dusty haze be from ducts?« Back to Previous Page

After the heavy dust storm we experienced last week, I noticed a strange dusty haze lingering in my living room. It’s definitely not from outside since the windows were closed for days. The AC filters looked clean but I’m wondering if the ducts need cleaning as well. Have any of you had similar issues or what should I do next?

Absolutely, the dusty haze you're noticing could very well be due to your duct system. In Dubai and the UAE in general, our climate can cause dust and dirt to accumulate over time within the air ducts, especially after events like a heavy sandstorm or even during dry spells when there's less rainfall to keep the environment cleaner.

In such cases, it’s wise to inspect your ductwork for buildup. Dust and debris that gather inside the ducts can be stirred up into the air as your HVAC system operates, causing the haze you’re observing. The AC filters might not catch all of this fine dust, especially if they're already clean or recently replaced.

Given the specific conditions in Dubai with its high temperatures and frequent sandstorms, it's highly recommended that you have a professional inspection done. Our region’s regulations often call for regular maintenance of HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and indoor air quality (IAQ). In the UAE, companies like Saniservice are known for their expertise in duct cleaning and other environmental remediation services.

If after your inspection you find significant buildup or if you just want peace of mind, professional duct cleaning is a wise step. It’s not uncommon to see a noticeable difference in IAQ following a thorough clean out. This service can be scheduled through 800-MOLDS or by contacting us at hello@saniservice.com.

Remember, maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of your HVAC system is crucial for both comfort and health, particularly in such an arid climate. With proper maintenance, you should see less dust circulating and enjoy a more pleasant indoor environment.

Call 800-MOLDS or email hello@saniservice.com to book an inspection today!
