How urgent is cleaning after dust storms?« Back to Previous Page

After the heavy dust storm we experienced last week, which seemed to come out of nowhere, the sand particles are still lingering in my living room. It's hard to breathe sometimes when I walk through there, especially since I have asthma. The AC filters are already clogged, and it’s only been a few days. How urgent is it for us to clean everything, and what can we do to protect ourselves from the dust storms that seem to be hitting more frequently?

Cleaning after dust storms is indeed quite urgent, especially considering the environmental conditions and health implications in the UAE. The recent heavy dust storm that hit Dubai has left a significant amount of particulate matter floating around your living space, which can be particularly problematic for individuals with respiratory issues such as asthma.

In the UAE, the Health Authorities recommend taking swift action to minimize exposure to these harmful particles. It is essential to clean and sanitize surfaces promptly to reduce the risk of allergens and irritants affecting air quality in your home. Given that your AC filters are already clogged after only a few days, it’s clear that dust particles can quickly accumulate.

Firstly, you should immediately turn off any HVAC systems and ensure doors and windows are tightly sealed to prevent further entry of dust into your living space. Use HEPA (High-Efficiency Particulate Air) vacuum cleaners with high filtration capabilities to thoroughly clean carpets, rugs, and furniture. Microfiber cloths are also effective in trapping particles that might have settled on surfaces.

For more thorough cleaning, it’s advisable to engage professional environmental inspection services like Saniservice. They can provide detailed assessments of the indoor air quality and recommend appropriate measures for decontamination. Their expertise ensures that all areas are thoroughly cleaned and that your home is safe from lingering dust and potential health hazards.

If you notice any persistent symptoms or if you’re concerned about the condition of your HVAC systems, a professional inspection could be crucial to ensure long-term protection against further dust storms.

Remember, protecting yourself and your family’s health should always be top priority. Call 800-MOLDS or email hello@saniservice.com for expert advice and services tailored to Dubai's environmental challenges.

Stay safe!
