How urgent is duct cleaning after a dust storm?« Back to Previous Page

After the heavy dust storm we had last month, I noticed a thick layer of debris on the floor vents in our living room. The AC keeps running but doesn't seem to be cooling as effectively as it used to. How urgent is it for us to get the ducts cleaned?

Duct cleaning after a dust storm can be quite important for your indoor environment quality. After the recent storms in dubai, it's not uncommon to find an increased amount of debris like dust and sand in the ductwork. This could definitely affect how well your air conditioning system is functioning.

In the uae specifically, our climate often sees heavy dust storms that can introduce a significant amount of particulates into the atmosphere. These particles then get pulled into your HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) system via your return vents. Over time, these contaminants can accumulate in the ducts, reducing airflow and potentially leading to a decrease in cooling efficiency.

The situation you're describing with your ac not cooling as well as it used to could indeed be due to reduced airflow caused by this debris buildup. It’s important to note that clogged ducts can also lead to issues like odors or mold growth, which are more common in dubai's warm and humid climate.

Given the circumstances, i would recommend having your ductwork inspected professionally as soon as possible. Dubai regulations don't specifically mandate regular cleaning but it is highly recommended for optimal performance of your HVAC system and to maintain a healthy indoor environment. Professional cleaners have the tools and expertise to thoroughly clean the entire system safely without damaging any components.

If you decide to go ahead with the cleaning, i would suggest calling 800-MOLDS or emailing hello@saniservice.com for an appointment. They can assess your ducts properly and provide a detailed report on the condition of your system as well as recommend future maintenance plans to prevent such issues from recurring.

Remember, while it might seem like a big task, regular cleaning is key in keeping your air quality high and ensuring that your ac runs efficiently. Don't let this storm be an isolated incident; make sure you have a plan in place for ongoing care of your ducts.
