How urgent is duct cleaning now?« Back to Previous Page

After the heavy dust storms we had a few weeks ago, I’ve noticed a persistent dirtier-than-normal layer of dust on the furniture in my bedroom. The AC unit in there has been running more than usual too. Given that it’s already late spring and summer is coming, how urgent do you think it is to get the ducts cleaned?

Duct cleaning is indeed something that should be given serious consideration, especially after the recent dust storms we've experienced. In Dubai and across the UAE, ductwork plays a critical role in maintaining indoor air quality (IAQ) throughout our buildings. The persistent layer of dirt you're noticing on your furniture might well indicate a need for attention to your HVAC system.

Given that it's late spring and summer is just around the corner, with its higher temperatures and increased use of air conditioning units, now could be quite urgent to get those ducts cleaned. According to local regulations, including the UAE Building Code and Environmental Health guidelines, maintaining clean and efficient ductwork ensures better performance of your air conditioning system while reducing energy consumption.

The dust storms can introduce a lot of particulate matter into the air which then gets sucked in by your AC unit and distributed throughout your home or workspace. This might lead to an increase in static electricity and dust settling on furniture, carpets, and other surfaces. In Dubai's climate, it’s not uncommon for such issues to be exacerbated during these periods.

I would recommend having a professional inspection done first. At Saniservice, we can offer detailed assessments of your ductwork and identify any areas that need cleaning or repair. This is particularly important if you have noticed an unusual increase in the use of your AC unit, as it could indicate restricted airflow due to accumulated dust and debris.

Given the current circumstances, I'd say it's rather urgent to act soon. The sooner you address this issue, the more efficient and comfortable your home will be during the upcoming hot months. Remember that regular maintenance of your HVAC system can also help in reducing allergens and improving overall IAQ, which is especially important for those with respiratory issues.

So, if you're concerned or just want peace of mind, consider giving us a call at 800-MOLDS (800-66537) or drop us an email to hello@saniservice.com. We can schedule a service visit and ensure that your ducts are clean and ready for the summer.

Stay cool and breathe easy!
