Is AC dust harming my children?« Back to Previous Page

Since we moved into our new apartment in Jumeirah a few months ago, I’ve noticed this persistent dust cloud every time someone turns on the AC. It’s particularly concerning because my two young children play in that room frequently. Just yesterday, my son had another coughing fit and it was worse than usual. Could this be related to the ducts needing cleaning?

Absolutely, the persistent dust cloud coming from your air conditioning system could be contributing to your children's respiratory issues. In the UAE, particularly in Dubai, we experience high levels of particulate matter and allergens due to our climate and desert environment. The air ducts in your home can accumulate a significant amount of dust and other contaminants over time, especially if they haven't been cleaned recently.

When someone turns on the AC, these particles are circulated throughout the building. For children, who spend more time indoors and have smaller airways, this can exacerbate respiratory issues like coughing fits and asthma symptoms. This could indeed be linked to your son's recent bout of coughing.

According to local regulations in Dubai, it is recommended that HVAC systems, including ducts, are regularly inspected and cleaned to ensure they meet the standards for indoor environmental quality (IEQ). The Abu Dhabi Building Code AD8-2014 also mandates regular maintenance of air conditioning systems, ensuring they do not pose health risks.

I'd recommend scheduling a professional inspection of your ductwork. A company like ours can assess the condition of your system and provide cleaning services if necessary. We have state-of-the-art equipment to thoroughly clean all parts of the ductwork, helping reduce airborne contaminants and improving air quality in your home. This will not only address the immediate concern but also ensure a healthier living environment for you and your family.

Please consider giving us a call at 800-MOLDS or emailing hello@saniservice.com to book an inspection. Your peace of mind is our top priority, and we are committed to ensuring that every home in Dubai has clean, healthy air to breathe.

Remember, keeping your AC system well maintained isn’t just about comfort; it’s crucial for your family's health.
