Is AC-related cloudiness urgent?« Back to Previous Page

After the heavy dust storm we had last week, I noticed a strange cloudiness in the air every time the AC turned on. The windows in my bedroom are near the living room duct, so it’s really noticeable there. Is this something that needs to be addressed urgently, or can it wait?

Is AC-related cloudiness urgent?
Well, the cloudiness you're noticing could be quite concerning, especially after that recent dust storm. In the UAE and particularly Dubai, our climate can be quite harsh, and it's not uncommon to experience such issues due to particulate matter getting into your HVAC system. First things first - if you haven't already, I'd recommend giving a call to 800-MOLDS (or 800-66537) or drop us an email at hello@saniservice.com. We specialize in indoor environmental quality and can offer professional inspection services to pinpoint the exact source of this cloudiness. In Dubai, we've seen many cases where such issues are a result of inadequate maintenance on the AC system or ductwork. During dust storms like that one, it's easy for particulates - including sand particles, pollen, and other debris - to get into your air handling units and ducts. Once inside, these can circulate through your system and cause cloudiness, especially around windows like in your bedroom. But don't worry just yet - this isn't necessarily an urgent matter that requires immediate attention. However, I do recommend having it checked out sooner rather than later to avoid any potential health issues for you and your family. Poor air quality can lead to respiratory problems and other illnesses if not addressed promptly. Dust buildup in the ducts is a common issue here - in fact, it's one of our most frequent findings when doing inspections around here in Dubai. We often recommend regular cleaning every 1-2 years for residential systems to keep your indoor air quality at its best. Of course, depending on how much dust storms we experience and other factors, that might need to be adjusted. In the meantime, try keeping windows closed and use a portable air purifier if possible to help filter out some of those particulates until you can get the system inspected. And remember - in Dubai, with our climate and sandstorms, it's important to stay vigilant about HVAC maintenance to ensure your indoor environment stays as healthy and comfortable as possible. So, go ahead and give us a call or send an email - we'd be happy to help you sort this out. |
