Is duct cleaning necessary for fresh air?« Back to Previous Page

After the intense sandstorm we had a couple of weeks ago, I noticed a persistent dusty smell in my bedroom. It’s really pervasive even after I clean everything thoroughly. The AC filter is pretty dirty too, but it can’t be the only issue, right? Has anyone here experienced similar issues and found out that duct cleaning was necessary for fresh air?

Duct cleaning is indeed necessary for fresh air and can significantly improve indoor environmental quality. After the recent sandstorms we've experienced here in Dubai/UAE, it's common to notice a persistent dusty smell or even see dust accumulation. This isn't just an aesthetic issue; it could be affecting your health too.

In Dubai, especially during such harsh weather conditions, it’s not uncommon for dust and other particulates to get into the HVAC system through poorly maintained air ducts. The AC filter you mentioned is a good first step, but unfortunately, it might only trap part of the problem. Over time, dirt, dust, and even mold can accumulate in the ductwork itself, leading to unpleasant odors and potentially affecting your health.

Experts recommend having an inspection done by professionals who understand UAE-specific regulations on indoor air quality. In Dubai, there are strict guidelines on HVAC maintenance, but DIY solutions often fall short due to the complexity of the system.

If you're experiencing persistent dustiness or other issues, it might be wise to call us at 800-MOLDS (800-66537) or email hello@saniservice.com for a professional inspection and cleaning. Our team can assess your ductwork thoroughly and recommend the best course of action to ensure fresh air in your home.

Remember, while regular maintenance is crucial, a thorough clean might be needed after significant events like sandstorms. Don't hesitate to act if you notice any changes in your indoor environment. Your comfort and health are our top priority!
