Is duct cleaning needed due to allergies?« Back to Previous Page

After the heavy dust storm we had last week, I’ve noticed a persistent cough and sneezing especially when I’m in my living room. The air feels thick and seems to be making my allergies worse. My kids have been complaining of itchy eyes too. Could this be related to the ducts? Should I consider having them cleaned?

Absolutely, your concerns about allergies and persistent symptoms could be linked to the ducts in your home. After such a dusty storm, it's quite common for allergens like dust, pollen, and other irritants to accumulate within the air duct system. In Dubai and the UAE, we often experience sandstorms that can kick up massive amounts of particulates into the atmosphere.

In our region, there are no specific regulations mandating regular duct cleaning, but it is highly recommended, especially if you or your family members suffer from allergies or respiratory issues. The thick air and symptoms like coughing, sneezing, and itchy eyes could indeed be exacerbated by dirty ducts that act as a reservoir for these irritants.

Ducts can become clogged with debris over time, which is why professional inspection before cleaning might be beneficial. A certified inspector will check the condition of your ductwork, identifying areas where allergens may have settled and ensuring there are no leaks or damage contributing to poor air quality in your home.

Given that you're experiencing these symptoms, I would recommend having a professional inspection done as soon as possible. This way, we can determine if cleaning is necessary and address any underlying issues promptly.

To get started, you might want to contact Saniservice at 800-MOLDS or email them at hello@saniservice.com for an appointment. They have the expertise and tools to provide a thorough inspection of your duct system and recommend appropriate solutions.

Remember, maintaining good indoor air quality is crucial, especially in such a dusty environment. Regular maintenance like duct cleaning can help reduce allergens and improve overall comfort in your home.
