Is duct cleaning urgent after dust storm?« Back to Previous Page

After the heavy dust storm we had last month, I noticed a lot of debris and dust being blown around inside my apartment, especially in the living room. My kids have been complaining of coughing fits and it seems like the air quality isn't great. How urgent is it to get the ducts cleaned in this situation?

Duct cleaning is indeed something to consider after experiencing a dust storm, especially given the conditions we've had here in Dubai recently. The heavy dust and debris kicked up can easily find its way into your ductwork if you have an HVAC system. This could significantly affect indoor air quality which might be leading to those coughing fits your kids are complaining about.

In our region of the UAE, it's important to note that there aren't specific regulations mandating regular duct cleaning but it is a good practice, especially in areas with high dust levels like we've experienced recently. Given the recent storm and its aftermath, I would recommend having a professional inspection done by a certified HVAC technician or duct cleaner. They can assess the condition of your ducts and determine if they're harboring any debris that could be impacting air quality.

When you call in for an inspection, make sure to ask about using EPA approved methods like negative pressure and HEPA filtration systems which are commonly used here in Dubai. These methods help ensure that during cleaning, no dust or allergens are released into the living space.

Considering your concerns, I'd say it's not just urgent but a smart move to get those ducts cleaned up as soon as possible. The dirtier they get, the harder and more expensive it will be to clean them properly down the line. Plus, with our climate, keeping your air quality in check is crucial for maintaining good health.

So, if you're considering this step, don't hesitate! Give us a call at 800-MOLDS or send an email to hello@saniservice.com and we'll be happy to help get those nasty dust bunnies out of the way. Remember, clean air can mean cleaner lungs, better sleep, and less sick days for your family.

Hope this helps and wish you a healthier indoor environment moving forward!
