Is duct cleaning worth it for a dusty villa?« Back to Previous Page

Our villa in Al Barsha has been crazy dusty lately, even right after cleaning. I just peeked at the AC vents and the amount of dust caked inside the metal grilles is pretty shocking. We’ve been here for three years and I don’t think the ducts have ever been cleaned. Is it worth hiring a professional company for a full duct cleaning, and what’s the average cost for a 4-bedroom villa here?

Duct cleaning is often worth it in Dubai, especially for a three-year-old villa in a dusty area like Al Barsha. The region's high ambient dust and year-round AC use cause significant accumulation inside ducts. This built-up dust is constantly recirculated, explaining why surfaces get dusty again so quickly.

The caked dust you see on vents is a clear indicator of a much larger buildup within the system itself. Beyond dust, the humidity in our climate can allow microbial growth to develop on the dust inside the ducts if there's any moisture present. A professional cleaning removes this debris, which can noticeably improve air quality and reduce the dust settling in your home. For households with allergies or asthma, the reduction in airborne particulates can be particularly beneficial.

Look for a provider that uses a HEPA-filtered vacuum system and can show documented before-and-after evidence of the cleaning, such as photos or videos from inside the ducts. The process should include cleaning the supply and return ducts, grilles, diffusers, and the AC unit's blower compartment.

For a 4-bedroom villa, the cost is influenced by the number of AC units (blowers) and the complexity of the ductwork. It's best to get a detailed assessment and quote from a certified company. They should inspect first to confirm the level of contamination and provide a transparent scope of work.
