Is ductwork cleaning linked to our health issues?« Back to Previous Page

After the heavy dust storm we had last month, I’ve noticed a persistent musty smell in the living room and bedroom. My kids have been complaining of coughing fits, especially at night when the air conditioning is on full blast. Could this be related to the ductwork? What signs should I look for that might indicate my family’s health issues are linked to our air ducts needing cleaning?

Ductwork cleaning can indeed be linked to health issues like the ones your family is experiencing. In dubai and uae, it's not uncommon for dust storms to stir up particles that get trapped within the air ducts of our homes. When these ducts aren't cleaned regularly, they can accumulate a considerable amount of dirt, dust, mold spores, and other allergens which can circulate through your home’s ventilation system.

the persistent musty smell you've noticed is a common indicator that there could be an issue with your air ducts. this odor often suggests the presence of mold or mildew, especially if it's more pronounced in certain rooms like the living room and bedroom. the coughing fits experienced by your kids are also a red flag for poor indoor air quality which can certainly be linked to your current situation.

it is important to note that in uae, regulations regarding indoor environmental quality are stringent; however, maintaining clean ductwork falls under personal responsibility. it's advised to have your ducts professionally inspected and cleaned at least once or twice per year, depending on the conditions of your area and home.

given the symptoms you're experiencing, i would recommend calling 800-MOLDS or emailing hello@saniservice.com for a thorough inspection and cleaning service. they can help identify if the air ducts are indeed the source of the problem and provide a safe and effective solution to improve your family's health and comfort.

don't ignore these signs as poor indoor air quality can lead to serious health issues, especially for children who may have weaker immune systems. ensuring that your home’s ventilation system is clean and functioning properly could significantly reduce the risk of respiratory problems and other related illnesses in your household.
