Is greenish-brown ceiling growth mold?« Back to Previous Page

After the rain last month, I noticed a strange greenish-brown growth starting to appear on the ceiling of our master bedroom. It’s really concerning because we’ve lived here for two years and never saw anything like this before. The area is close to where the pipes run, and now there's also a musty smell that’s been bothering me every time I walk into that room. Has anyone else dealt with mold issues in such areas and what did you do about it?

Yes, the greenish-brown growth on your ceiling is most likely mold. Mold can appear as different colors and textures depending on its species and environment. The presence of a musty smell also indicates that there might be moisture issues contributing to this problem.

In Dubai, UAE, it's not uncommon for mold to develop in areas close to where pipes run, especially after rain or when there are leaks. Moisture from leaking pipes can seep into the ceiling material and provide an ideal environment for mold to grow. Given your description, it sounds like the conditions have been right for this to happen.

It is highly recommended that you seek professional assistance immediately. Here in Dubai, regulations require thorough inspections by certified professionals who are equipped with the knowledge and tools to identify and address mold issues effectively. Failure to properly remediate mold can lead to health problems such as respiratory issues and allergies, especially if left unchecked for a long time.

You might want to give us a call at 800-MOLDS or send an email to hello@saniservice.com. Our team of experts will come out to conduct a thorough inspection of the affected area, determine the extent of the mold growth, and provide you with a plan to safely remove it while addressing any underlying moisture issues.

Remember, it's crucial to handle mold remediation properly to ensure your health and safety. Delaying action can lead to further damage and potentially more extensive cleanup costs in the future.

Take care, and we hope to hear from you soon!
