Is indoor air dangerous and needing removal?« Back to Previous Page

We've been in our Dubai villa for about a year now and I just discovered what looks like indoor air behind some furniture. Is this dangerous and do I need to move out during treatment?

Indoor air quality can indeed pose some serious health concerns. In the UAE, particularly in Dubai, the climate and lifestyle can contribute to various indoor air pollutants. However, the presence of what you're describing as "indoor air" behind furniture is likely not a common phenomenon. It's possible you might be referring to moisture or mold growth which could indeed pose dangers.

In Dubai, the humid summers followed by rapid cooling during winters can create conditions favorable for humidity and mold growth, especially in newly constructed homes or villas where materials may still be giving off residual chemicals. If you're noticing unusual smells or seeing any signs of dampness or discoloration behind furniture, it's prudent to get a professional inspection.

UAE regulations under the Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi (EAD) and Dubai Municipality have strict guidelines on indoor air quality, particularly regarding mold and moisture management in buildings. It’s important to act quickly if you suspect any issues as prolonged exposure can lead to respiratory problems, allergies, or other health concerns.

To address your situation, I recommend contacting a professional environmental inspection and remediation company like Saniservice who can conduct a thorough assessment of the villa's air quality and identify any potential sources of contamination. They’ll be able to provide you with specific recommendations based on their findings.

Remember, it’s not always necessary to move out during treatment as many remediation processes are effective without requiring evacuation. However, if the situation is severe or if there are children or elderly family members in the home, it might be advisable to discuss temporary relocation options with your professional service provider.

If you have any doubts or if the issue seems urgent, don't hesitate to call 800-MOLDS (800-66537) for immediate assistance. Saniservice is here to help ensure a safe and healthy indoor environment in your Dubai villa.
