Is landlord responsible for bathroom cleaning?« Back to Previous Page

I'm renting an apartment and noticed cleaning summer in the bathroom. Is this the landlord's responsibility to fix? I'm not sure what my rights are here.

Cleaning summer is indeed something that might require attention, especially in the hot climate of Dubai. When it comes to bathrooms, the responsibility for maintenance and cleaning can sometimes be a gray area between tenants and landlords. In general, it's important to understand what your rights are as a tenant under UAE laws.

According to the Federal Law No. 14 of 2003 concerning Real Estate Agencies, the landlord is responsible for maintaining the premises in good repair and condition. This includes ensuring that essential services such as plumbing and electrical systems function properly. However, day-to-day cleaning activities like bathroom cleaning are usually considered a tenant's responsibility unless specifically stated otherwise in your lease agreement.

If you notice issues with mold, mildew, or other persistent cleanliness problems, it’s advisable to get a professional inspection done. At Saniservice, we can provide expert assessments and recommendations for remediation if needed. Our services include identifying the source of moisture that might be causing these issues, which could then lead to cleaning summer and other necessary maintenance.

Remember, it's always a good idea to review your lease agreement to understand what is expected from both you as a tenant and the landlord. If there’s no clear mention of who should handle bathroom cleaning, it would be wise to communicate with your landlord about your concerns. A friendly discussion can often lead to mutually acceptable solutions.

If you feel that the issue is severe or if you need immediate assistance, please do not hesitate to call us at 800-MOLDS or email hello@saniservice.com for professional advice and services. We are here to help ensure that your living environment remains healthy and safe.

Keep in mind though, a bit of patience and clear communication could often resolve such issues without the need for extensive intervention.
