Is replacing air filter urgent for odors?« Back to Previous Page

After the heavy dust storm a few days ago, I noticed a strong odor in the air conditioning system in my bedroom. It smells like something is burning, and it's really starting to bother me and my family. The filter hasn't been replaced since we moved in two years ago. How urgent is it that I replace the filter now?

Replacing the air filter is definitely urgent for the odors you've noticed. The dust storm that occurred recently could have introduced significant particulate matter into your HVAC system, leading to blockages and potential bacterial growth which might be causing those burning smells. In Dubai/UAE, we often face such weather conditions which can easily disrupt the air quality inside homes.
Given that your filter hasn't been replaced in two years, it's likely quite dirty now. A clogged filter can restrict airflow and promote mold and mildew growth – both of which can contribute to those unpleasant odors you're experiencing. It’s important to address this issue promptly for your family’s health and comfort. I'd recommend calling us at 800-MOLDS or emailing hello@saniservice.com so we can come out and inspect the system properly. We’ll ensure that not only is the filter clean, but also that everything else in your HVAC setup is working as it should to prevent future issues. Don’t delay this – your air quality is paramount. Remember, regular maintenance of your HVAC system is key to maintaining a healthy indoor environment, especially here in Dubai where we face such environmental challenges. If you're unsure about any aspect or want a professional assessment, don't hesitate to reach out. |
