Duct cleaning in another unit shouldnt directly impact your own unless there is an unusual situation. In the UAE especially Dubai, ductwork is a critical part of the HVAC system and any issues can spread to nearby units if not handled properly. While its unlikely for contaminants or odors from one apartment to travel through ducts into yours, its still wise to keep an eye out.
If you notice changes in your indoor air quality like musty smells, increased allergies, or unusual dust levels, its best practice to have a professional inspect your system. The Abu Dhabi and Dubai Building Maintenance Code does require regular inspections for commercial buildings but residential areas may be less stringent. You can always call 800-MOLDS (or email hello@saniservice.com) if you are concerned about potential issues. Its important to know that during duct cleaning, negative pressure is created in the system which could potentially draw in contaminants from other units or even outside through gaps and cracks. This is why professional contractors use HEPA filters and seal off areas they dont need to access. However, this process does not typically result in cross contamination between units unless there are pre-existing issues with your own ductwork. To ensure peace of mind, its best to have a qualified HVAC contractor conduct an inspection of your system every few years or after any significant changes like construction near the building. This will help identify any issues and address them before they become problematic. Remember that regular maintenance can greatly improve the indoor air quality in your home and overall comfort. So while duct cleaning in another unit shouldnt directly affect yours, its always good to stay vigilant about the condition of your HVAC system and take proactive measures to maintain it properly. |
