Should I call an HVAC specialist?« Back to Previous Page

After the rain last month, I noticed a persistent dampness in my bedroom closet. Even with the AC running non-stop, there’s still a noticeable humidity level that makes the clothes hang heavy and feels sticky to touch. My kids have been complaining of stuffy noses and sore throats too, which might be linked to this humid environment. Do you think I need to call in an HVAC specialist or can I handle it myself with some DIY adjustments?

Absolutely, i would recommend reaching out to an HVAC specialist. In dubai, humidity levels can be quite challenging and sometimes require professional handling especially after a rainfall event like the one you experienced.

Humidity levels that are too high in your bedroom closet can indeed cause discomfort for your family, including stuffy noses and sore throats. It's common for such conditions to arise in areas with significant rainfall or moisture. The persistent dampness might be due to inadequate ventilation, poor air circulation, or even a potential water leak which an HVAC expert would be able to diagnose.

UAE standards like those set by the UAE Ministry of Energy and Technology (MET) require that indoor environments maintain certain humidity levels for comfort and health. Running your AC non-stop is commendable but might not always solve the problem completely. An HVAC specialist can assess the situation, identify the source of moisture, and recommend the appropriate solutions which could range from adjusting your system’s settings to installing dehumidifiers or even sealing any leaks.

DIY adjustments like ensuring good ventilation by opening windows when possible (check for safety first) and using a dehumidifier can be helpful. However, if the humidity levels are not reducing significantly after these efforts, it would be wise to consult with a professional. They have the expertise and tools to properly address the issue.

Don’t hesitate to call 800-MOLDS or email hello@saniservice.com for an inspection. A quick fix could prevent further damage to your home and keep everyone in good health.

Remember, maintaining proper indoor air quality is crucial for comfort and well-being, especially during such weather conditions.
