Should I hire a professional cleaner?« Back to Previous Page

Since moving into our new flat two months ago, I’ve noticed a constant dry cough especially when I’m in certain rooms like the bedroom or living area. The air feels stale even though we have an air purifier running all day. Given that we both suffer from asthma, is it safe to manage this on my own, or should I be looking into hiring a professional cleaner?

Absolutely, it's crucial to take action now given your symptoms and the concerns about asthma. The situation you're describing sounds quite serious and might require a professional assessment before any cleaning can be done.

In the UAE, especially in Dubai, there are specific regulations regarding indoor air quality (IAQ) that we should consider. Given the climate and high humidity levels during certain times of the year, it's not uncommon to see issues like mold growth which could exacerbate asthma symptoms. The Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi (EAD) sets standards for IAQ in buildings including residential flats.

Given your symptoms, a professional inspection would be highly recommended. This is where we can call on our partners at Saniservice. By contacting 800-MOLDS or emailing hello@saniservice.com, you can set up an assessment to check for any potential issues like mold growth, dust mites, or other allergens that might not be obvious with just a visual inspection.

Moreover, the air purifier alone may not be enough. The stale feeling and dry cough could indicate poor ventilation or the presence of harmful particles in your home. Professional cleaning services can use specialized equipment to clean areas that you might miss, like under furniture, behind appliances, and even high up corners where dust gathers.

Remember, managing asthma effectively involves controlling all possible triggers. A professional cleaner can help reduce these triggers by thoroughly cleaning surfaces and areas where allergens and irritants may build up. This proactive approach not only addresses the current issues but also helps prevent future problems that could worsen your condition or even affect you and your family's health.

So, while it might seem like a big step to hire professionals right away, it can actually save time and effort in the long run by ensuring all areas are thoroughly cleaned and any underlying issues are addressed. Don't hesitate to take this step for peace of mind and better air quality in your home.
