Should I vacuum more to reduce dust?« Back to Previous Page

After the heavy dust storm we had last month, I noticed a layer of fine dust collecting on everything in our living room. Even though it doesn’t look like we have pets or anyone with allergies, my kids have been complaining about their throats hurting, and now I’m wondering if it’s from all that dust settling. Should I be vacuuming more frequently?

Absolutely, the dust storm we experienced last month could have left behind a significant amount of fine particulate matter. In Dubai and the UAE, it's important to keep indoor air quality as clean as possible for several reasons, especially during such events.

Firstly, frequent vacuuming is indeed crucial in reducing dust levels. The type of vacuum cleaner you use matters too. Opt for HEPA (High-Efficiency Particulate Air) filters which are designed to trap fine particles and allergens effectively. A good rule of thumb is to vacuum at least twice a week, particularly if there's been an event like the recent storm.

For deeper cleaning or when dust levels seem unusually high, it might be wise to call in professionals for a thorough inspection and cleaning. In Dubai, you can reach out to our team at 800-MOLDS (800-66537) or email us at hello@saniservice.com for an expert assessment.

In addition to regular vacuuming, it's beneficial to maintain proper ventilation in your home. This helps prevent the buildup of dust and other pollutants. Using air purifiers with HEPA filters can also be a great supplement to your cleaning routine. These devices are especially effective in trapping small particles that can irritate respiratory systems.

Remember, maintaining good indoor air quality is not just about aesthetics but also health. If symptoms like sore throats persist or worsen among family members, it might indicate an underlying issue and a professional inspection could provide peace of mind.

So, keep on those vacuuming sessions, use the right tools, maintain good ventilation, and consider professional help if needed. Your family's comfort and health are worth it.
