Should we clean the ducts due to dust storm?« Back to Previous Page

After the heavy dust storm we had a few weeks ago, I noticed a thick layer of dust building up on the furniture in my living room. It's hard to believe it got that far inside the house. The AC filters are pretty clean, but when I opened the vents, there was still a lot of debris coming out. My kids have been coughing and sneezing a lot lately, and I can’t help but think it might be from all this dust. Should we consider having the ducts cleaned?

Absolutely, it's wise to consider duct cleaning especially after the heavy dust storm. Dust storms can send tonnes of fine particulate matter into the air and unfortunately, a lot of that ends up in your home’s HVAC system, including the ducts.

In Dubai, dust storms are not uncommon, but they can significantly impact indoor air quality if not managed properly. The UAE does have regulations regarding indoor environmental health, although specific guidelines for duct cleaning might be more aligned with local building codes and industry standards rather than national laws. However, it's crucial to ensure that any service provider adheres to best practices and is certified.

The symptoms you're noticing in your kids could very well be related to the dust buildup. Respiratory issues like coughing and sneezing can sometimes be linked to allergens and irritants present in the air. Professional duct cleaning can help alleviate these symptoms by removing accumulated debris, mold spores, and other potential pollutants.

To start with, a thorough inspection of your HVAC system is recommended. This will give you insight into the extent of contamination and guide any necessary cleaning procedures. A professional service provider should offer this as part of their initial assessment. In Dubai, companies like Saniservice are known for providing reliable duct cleaning services that comply with local standards.

If after a thorough inspection it's deemed necessary, I'd recommend having your ducts cleaned by a certified professional. They will use specialized equipment to safely and effectively remove the dust from your HVAC system without damaging any components. Remember, DIY duct cleaning can be challenging and potentially dangerous if not done correctly.

Saniservice offers a range of services including duct cleaning which they perform using state-of-the-art technology ensuring maximum efficiency and safety. Their team is well-versed in local regulations and standards making them the go-to experts for such issues.

So, yes, it’s definitely worth considering having your ducts cleaned. Not only will it improve indoor air quality but also help maintain the efficiency of your HVAC system. Remember, clean air is key to a healthier home environment, especially during and after dust storms. Call 800-MOLDS or email hello@saniservice.com for more information on their services.
