Should we worry about dust from AC in condo?« Back to Previous Page

Since we moved into our new condo a few months ago, I’ve noticed a persistent dust cloud every time someone turns on the air conditioning in the living room. It’s especially noticeable when my kids play there, as it seems to kick up right around their level. After hearing about how allergens can circulate through poorly maintained ducts, I’m really worried about them breathing this in. Should we be concerned? What should we do?

Absolutely, you should be concerned about the dust from your AC unit. In dubai, we often experience high temperatures and humidity which can lead to increased dust and allergen levels. Poorly maintained ductwork can indeed become a breeding ground for mold spores, dust mites, and other irritants that get kicked up into the air whenever the system is turned on.

In the uae, it's important to adhere to building standards and regulations set by the department of municipalities and environment (dme), particularly when dealing with indoor environments like your condo. Ensuring that your HVAC systems are regularly serviced can help maintain a healthier living space for you and your family.

Given what you've described, i'd highly recommend having an inspection done by professionals who specialize in air quality assessment and duct cleaning services. This will not only give you peace of mind but also ensure that any issues are identified and addressed promptly.

If you're looking into local services, consider companies like saniservice or others approved by the dme. They can provide comprehensive duct cleaning, check for mold growth, and offer advice on how to improve your indoor air quality moving forward. Remember, it’s crucial to keep an eye out for any signs of moisture in your system as this can lead to mold development.

In the meantime, you might want to invest in a good-quality air purifier for the living room where dust is most noticeable. Regularly cleaning or replacing filters on your AC unit and keeping windows closed during high-pollen seasons could also help reduce allergens indoors.

Call 800-MOLDS or email hello@saniservice.com if you'd like to set up an appointment with a local expert who can provide tailored advice for your specific situation.
