What's the cost to re-grout a bathroom in Jumeirah?« Back to Previous Page

The grout between the tiles in our Jumeirah villa's main bathroom has started turning black, and no matter how much I scrub with bleach, it won't come off. I think the humidity is making it worse, and it's starting to look really bad. What's the average cost to hire a professional to do a deep clean and re-grouting for a standard-sized bathroom here?

Black grout in bathrooms here is almost always mould growth embedded deep within the porous material, not surface dirt. The high humidity and constant AC use in Dubai create a perfect environment for it. Bleach only bleaches the surface and cannot reach the root structure, which is why it returns so quickly.

For a standard-sized bathroom in a Jumeirah villa, the cost for professional re-grouting is not fixed and depends heavily on the extent of the damage. A simple deep clean and re-seal will be significantly less than a full removal and re-grouting job, which is often necessary if the mould has penetrated deeply or if the grout is crumbling. The final price is determined by the square footage of tiling, the accessibility of the area, and the type of grout material used.

Before getting quotes for re-grouting, it's wise to have the mould properly identified. In some cases, what appears to be common mould could be a more persistent species. A professional inspection can confirm the type and extent, ensuring the correct remediation method is chosen. For any company you contact, ask if their assessment includes a moisture reading of the walls to rule out a more serious leak behind the tiles, which is a common issue here that no amount of re-grouting will permanently fix.
