Who cleans AC ducts: landlord or tenant?« Back to Previous Page

After the heavy dust storm we had last month, I noticed a lot of dirt and debris collected in the ducts of my bedroom. The AC vents are quite dirty and seem to be blowing out more dust than cool air. Is it usually the landlord's responsibility to clean these or should I bring this up with them?

Well, the answer to who cleans AC ducts can depend on several factors including local laws and the terms of your lease agreement. In the UAE, particularly Dubai, it is generally a good idea for both landlords and tenants to understand their responsibilities regarding maintenance tasks like duct cleaning.

In many cases, the landlord might have an obligation to ensure that the HVAC system, which includes ducts, is maintained in good working order. However, it's crucial to check your lease agreement as this can vary from property to property. Some agreements may state specific provisions for regular maintenance and cleaning of the air conditioning systems.

That being said, if you notice a significant amount of dirt or debris in your AC vents and your bedroom ducts after the recent dust storm, it might be wise to bring this up with your landlord or management company. They should address any issues that could affect the overall comfort and air quality of your living space.

However, if the landlord is not responsive or if you want to ensure a thorough clean, consider hiring a professional duct cleaning service like ours at Saniservice. We can provide a detailed inspection and recommend a proper cleaning schedule based on the condition of your system.

Remember, regular maintenance can greatly improve indoor air quality and the efficiency of your AC unit. It's also important for health reasons, especially in areas prone to dust storms or other environmental issues.

So, if you feel uncomfortable bringing it up with your landlord or simply want peace of mind, give us a call at 800-MOLDS (800-66537) or email hello@saniservice.com. We can help keep your home's air clean and fresh.

And always remember, keeping your ducts clean is key to maintaining a healthy indoor environment in Dubai’s climate!
