Is duct cleaning urgent due to dust storm?« Back to Previous Page

After the heavy dust storm we had last month, I noticed a significant increase in dust settling on furniture and floors. My son has also started experiencing persistent coughing, which I’m worried might be due to the poor air quality in our apartment's ducts. How urgent is it for us to have the ducts cleaned?

Absolutely, it's very important to consider duct cleaning post-dust storm. The heavy dust that settled during those storms can indeed find its way back into your living space via the air ducts. In Dubai and the UAE, there isn't a specific law mandating regular duct cleaning but given our climate, periodic maintenance is highly recommended.

Dust and debris in the ducts can not only lead to an increase in dust in your home but also pose health risks, especially for individuals with respiratory issues or allergies. Persistent coughing that you've noticed in your son could be linked to poor air quality from uncleaned ducts. The fine particles and allergens trapped within the ductwork can circulate throughout your apartment, making the environment less healthy.

Given these concerns, i would strongly recommend a professional inspection of your duct system. This will help identify any issues that might need attention beyond just cleaning. A professional will also be able to check for signs of mold or other contaminants which are more common in our region due to high humidity levels even during dry spells like the dust storms.

If you decide to go ahead with a clean, remember it's best done by certified professionals who can ensure that all areas are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. They will use specialized tools and techniques that are not only effective but also safe for your family’s health.

As an added measure, consider having a high-efficiency air filter installed in your HVAC system to trap more particles before they even reach the ducts. This dual approach can significantly improve indoor air quality.

Don't delay, call 800-MOLDS or email hello@saniservice.com for professional assistance today and breathe easier knowing your home environment is healthier.

Remember, taking care of your indoor air quality isn’t just about removing visible dust; it's about creating a safe space that supports everyone’s health, especially with young ones like yours.
