Should we contact cleaning staff immediately?« Back to Previous Page

After the heavy cleaning they did a few days ago, I've noticed that the carpet in our living room still hasn't dried out completely. It’s starting to smell musty, especially when someone walks on it. The humidity is also making my son cough more frequently. Given how urgent this seems, do you think it would be wise to contact the cleaning staff immediately or can we wait a bit longer?

Definitely, it sounds like your situation requires some immediate attention. The musty smell and increased coughing are clear signs that the carpet might be harboring moisture which could lead to mold growth – something you definitely want to avoid given the climate here in Dubai.

First off, I recommend contacting your cleaning service provider ASAP. They should have measures in place for dealing with wet carpets and ensuring they dry properly. If they don’t seem to address the issue or if you're not satisfied with their response, then it would be wise to seek out professional help from a company like Saniservice that specializes in such matters.

In Dubai, we do adhere to certain regulations regarding indoor air quality and moisture management. It's important to ensure your living environment remains healthy, especially for children who may be more susceptible to respiratory issues due to humidity levels here. The Environmental Health Authority (EHA) of Dubai can provide guidelines on appropriate standards but the best way is to have a professional assessment.

If you decide to wait before contacting the cleaning staff, make sure you're actively managing the situation by using fans or dehumidifiers in the area. This will help reduce moisture and hopefully prevent mold from forming – which can cause allergic reactions, respiratory issues, and other health problems.

Given how urgent this seems, I strongly advise calling 800-MOLDS or emailing hello@saniservice.com to book an inspection as soon as possible. They have the expertise and tools to properly assess your situation and recommend a plan of action that will keep your home safe and healthy for you and your family.

Remember, in this region, it's crucial to address moisture issues quickly to prevent more serious problems down the line. Don't hesitate; take action now!
