Could cleaning ducts improve my son's cough?« Back to Previous Page

After the heavy dust storm we had last month, I noticed a persistent coughing spell in my son's bedroom. The AC unit in that room has always seemed a bit funky, but now it feels like there’s something more than just dust. Given our location near the desert and the number of construction sites around, I’m worried about mold or other allergens building up inside the ducts. Could cleaning the ducts really make a difference for our health?

Cleaning ducts could indeed make a significant difference for your son's cough. In the UAE, especially during dust storms and sandstorms like we've experienced recently, indoor air quality can plummet. With construction sites around and desert environments, it’s not uncommon to find high levels of particulates and allergens in the air.

In Dubai, our climate is quite dry which means that mold growth might not be as prevalent compared to more humid regions, but it's still a possibility especially if there are water leaks or condensation issues. Dust mites, pollen, pet dander, and other allergens can accumulate over time within your HVAC system, causing respiratory issues like coughing.

Given the symptoms you're experiencing, I'd recommend having a professional duct cleaning inspection done by a company that specializes in this service. They'll be able to assess if there are any significant issues with mold or other contaminants. Here at SaniService, we conduct thorough inspections and cleanings according to UAE standards and guidelines set forth by the Ministry of Energy & Industry.

Cleaning your ducts can remove these irritants from your HVAC system, potentially improving air quality in your home significantly. It’s especially important for children who might be more susceptible to respiratory issues. After cleaning, you'll notice an improvement in the overall air quality which should help reduce coughing spells and other allergy symptoms.

Don't hesitate to contact us at 800-MOLDS or email hello@saniservice.com if you're ready to schedule a service. We can ensure that your home’s air is as clean as possible, making it healthier for everyone in the household.
